Road Tested

All of my orchestral works have been 'road tested' - that is, they've been rehearsed and successfully 

performed by a real live orchestra.  

 

Any bugs in either composition or music engraving have been worked out and corrected.  You can purchase and perform my scores without fear of something going wrong on my end and wasting valuable rehearsal time on yours.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is a unique and mysteriously effervescent orchestral arrangement of the famous English Christmas Carol.  Scored for orchestra and 3 keyboards (piano, harpsichord and harp) it weaves undulating trance rhythms against the ancient carol.  From the cacophonous beginning to the mischievous final notes, this work is sure to provide your holiday program with a very unique and unforgettable offering.

Suite Gothique is a superb and beloved organ masterpiece from the French composer Leon Boellmann.  It is scored for standard orchestra,  The 3rd movement (Priere a Notre-Dame) also features solo viola, solo 'cello, and solo harp (can be played by a keyboard).

Passepied is the 4th movement of Debussy's hauntingly medieval "Suite Bergamasque".  The well known 3rd movement "Clair de Lune" is a perennial favorite.  A Passepied is a dance originating in Brittany.

Celtic Fantasy for Bagpipes and Orchestra

Celtic Fantasy for Bagpipes and Orchestra is a wonderful and lively medley of 3 Scottish folk songs arranged for a selection of different pipes (Scottish Small Pipes, Scottish Border Pipes, and even a Tin Whistle!) and full orchestra.  The tunes are the beautiful Wild Mountain Thyme, Andy Renfrew's Favourite Ferret, and The Lark in the Morning.  The orchestra gets into the action as well, with some celebratory foot stomping and shouting!  

​

This piece was composed for Master Piper Lucas Mitsch and the Saint Davids Orchestra Society of Wayne Pennsylvania, and was premiered at Eastern University in the spring of 2014.

​

se 7 en is a cinematic tour-de-force for your orchestra - a heroic concert-rondo written to celebrate the 80th birthday of my father John Bryant.  Optional break out percussion section at the end can feature the section, or call and response improvisational drumming.  Can be tailored to the needs of your ensemble or audience.  It's in seven, of course....

Toccata in 7 is an orchestration of an early work for organ by Sir John Rutter.  A great introduction to an odd time signature for your ensemble.

No. 13

No.13 is an homage to the radio dramas of the 1930's.  Scored for orchestra, Foley and voice actors, No. 13 tells the chilling tale of a haunted hotel room.  This wonderful story was created by the legendary MR James, who is considered by some to be the greatest ghost story author of all time, which is saying something, as that crowd includes Poe, Blackwood and Lovecraft.  More information on No. 13 can be found here.

Perfect for Halloween or Christmas programs, No. 13 is also available in a number of different performance options, should you want to do the piece but be fresh out of full orchestras or foley operators.
